A landmark hotel, where La Maison dei Marmi was involved in some of the most challenging marble scopes, requiring our cutting edge compositing technology, and excellent craftmanship.
A very challenging job, that required months of engineering and testing to develop the right solution for the customer.
Full in house design of 1000 sqm of prismatic, crystal-like, backlit alabaster columns: 5mm stone on 25 mm fiberglass backing, for light and strong big size cladding.
Because of the back lighting, the main issue has been to engineer a cladding system which allowed us to avoid to project the shadows of the mechanical anchoring system on the cladding surface.
Each tile is unique and each side is cut and joined to the next one at a different angle.
The job also features a unique and custom made backlit juice bar.
As a separate scope for the same job, La Maison dei Marmi produced 150 sqm of bespoke reinforced 3.2 cm thick Moucharaby cladding pattern, by joining two 1.6 cm slabs through a layer of reinforcing glue. All of the edges have been carefully hand polished, crafted and finished.
